Don’t Look Back In Anger: A Poem & Sketch For YOU 🦅 🌲

 

 Tape across the weary eyes, 

To mute the noise, to mask the cries. 

 Though years may drift and fade away, 

The feeling stays in bright display. 

L O O K ! ! ! 

 The red clay dust, the pine trees high, 

A sacred warmth beneath your sky. 

 I draw your face to pull you near, 

Across the miles, across the fear. 

DO NOT L O O K AWAY ! ! ! 

 Wild pine needles, river stones, a vow we built on quiet trust. 

 Your spirit carved in amber light, a ghost I keep through every night. 

 Braided hair and mountain air, I find your memory everywhere. 

 

Don’t L O O K B A C K in anger as the sun resets the sky, 

I celebrate the day you lived, though years keep passing by.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
