MASSIVE ATTACK: A Thousand Years Too Late 🥀

MASSIVE ATTACK: A Thousand Years Too Late 🥀 OC by Arabella Sveinsdottir. Not an official Inktober entry since the rules changed, but I really wanted to make some art this Halloween, and this concept has been sitting in my head for ages.

I’ve even written a few draft stories about them, so this artwork is just a little snippet of their world. Made this in Clip Studio Paint using manga brushes, heavily inspired by Massive Attack’s song Angel, which I’ve honestly been listening to on repeat (haha 💀).

Anyway, here’s my personal piece for October!

 “I’m sorry.”

“Why are you apologizing?”

“I'm a lifetime too late, my Lord.”

“I'm right where I need to be.”

“I know. I just... I wish I had told you a thousand years ago.”

“Tell me what?”

“Your voice...

was the only music that ever made sense

in this empty world.”

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
