Chainsaw Man Makima Cosplay

I cosplayed Makima from Chainsawman when I was around 17 years old. To be honest it was just a trial before but I did wear the costume at the ESGS event the last few years.

Chainsaw Man is still not as famous as the time I cosplayed it before and now I see a lot of people liking the manga and anime. I decided to cosplay Makima again since I relate to her in a lot of ways.

Makima has a persona that I kept asking WHY some people cosplay her because, in real life, I am 100% sure no one wants Makima as a friend. I see very loud people and people-pleasing people trying to cosplay her which makes me wanna laugh. Anyways, cosplay is cosplay so you are just portraying the character no matter who you are in real life.

Of course, Makima is not an INTJ but I can see how she loves control and how she needs it in her life which I sincerely relate to. Yeah and one thing about her is that no one gets her drift and no one can really relate to her because of the difference in knowledge and ability. Coming from an autistic and advanced person with a high IQ for my age, this hits close to heart.

A lot of the things she did is terrible and I do not tolerate that but if you've been reading tons of psychology stuff you will understand why people are like this or like that.

Hopefully, in the future I can get some professional space again to photograph my Makima cosplay cause since I cosplayed Kairos I feel like I need to have a real feel of the characters I portray and act (I guess that is the theater kid in me!).

That Pochita is actually my fanart, I call it Chainsaw Man x Black Desert!

Ella Harper, the "Camel Girl"

Ah, the fascinating Ella Harper, the "Camel Girl"! I'd be happy to share what I know about her. Here are some key points:

Life and Condition:

Born in Tennessee in 1870, Ella had a rare condition called congenital genu recurvatum, which caused her knees to bend backward.

She found it easier to walk on all fours, earning her the nickname "Camel Girl."

Circus Career:

In the late 19th century, Ella joined the W. H. Harris's Nickel Plate Circus, becoming a popular sideshow attraction.

She was known for her grace and agility while walking on all fours, and even performed tricks like balancing objects on her back.

Despite the exploitation inherent in being a sideshow performer, Ella reportedly earned a good salary, which allowed her some financial independence.

Later Life:

In 1886, Ella announced her intention to leave the circus and pursue an education.

She later married a schoolteacher and lived a relatively quiet life, passing away in 1921.

Legacy:

Ella Harper's story is a reminder of the complex intersection of disability, entertainment, and societal attitudes towards difference.

She offers a unique perspective on the history of sideshows and the experiences of individuals with disabilities in the late 19th century.

The Mass Hysteria Iceberg

The Mass Hysteria Iceberg is a fascinating and somewhat unnerving concept that delves into the depths of collective human behavior and its susceptibility to panic and irrationality. It uses an iceberg metaphor to represent the different layers of understanding about mass hysteria, with the tip of the iceberg representing common knowledge and the deeper layers delving into more obscure and potentially disturbing phenomena.

Here's a breakdown of the different layers:

Tip of the Iceberg:

Well-known examples: Salem Witch Trials, the Dancing Plague of Strasbourg, Tanganyika Laughter Epidemic. These are widely documented historical events where large groups of people exhibited seemingly contagious psychological and physical symptoms with no clear medical explanation.

Media-driven panic: Widespread fear and anxiety triggered by sensationalized news reporting or misinformation, like the Y2K scare or the "killer clown" phenomenon.
Deeper Layers:

Psychosomatic illnesses: Individuals experiencing symptoms due to psychological factors, often influenced by social expectations or anxieties. The nocebo effect is a related phenomenon where negative expectations about treatment can lead to real physical side effects.

Shared delusions and collective hallucinations: Groups of people reporting similar unreal experiences, like the mass UFO sightings in the 1950s or the phantom vibration syndrome where people feel their phone buzzing even when it's not.

Even Deeper:

Conspiracy theories and mass paranoia: Large-scale distrust and suspicion towards perceived threats, often fueled by misinformation and confirmation bias. Examples include the QAnon conspiracy movement or the belief in alien abduction.

Cult mentality and mass movements: Blind devotion to charismatic leaders or ideologies, leading to extreme behaviors and potential harm. One could consider historical occurrences like the Jonestown massacre or the Nazi regime as extreme examples of this level.

The Abyss:

Unexplained phenomena: Events with no definitive explanation that some attribute to mass hysteria, like the Tunguska explosion or the Dyatlov Pass incident.

Potential external influences: Some theories suggest factors like electromagnetic waves or even telepathy could play a role in triggering mass hysteria, though such claims remain largely unproven.

Remember, the deeper you go, the more into speculation and unconfirmed theories you venture into. It's important to approach these layers with a critical eye and maintain a healthy skepticism.

Transgender Participation in Sports and Beauty Pageants

Transgender participation in sports has been a hot-button topic for some time now, with many differing opinions and viewpoints voiced. While some believe that transgender individuals should be able to participate in sports without discrimination, others argue that it provides an unfair advantage.

As such, it is important to consider both sides and approach the issue with understanding and respect for all perspectives. It is crucial to ensure a fair and equitable environment.

Transgender Participation in Sports:

The governing bodies of most sports have established policies regarding transgender athlete participation, often based on scientific evidence and fairness considerations. These policies evolve as the understanding of the issue deepens.

Open and respectful discussions are crucial to ensure inclusivity and fair competition for all athletes.

Focusing on individual merit and athleticism is essential in creating a supportive and equitable environment for everyone.

Transgender participation in beauty pageants has also been a divisive topic, with varying opinions and viewpoints expressed. Some believe that transgender individuals ought to be included in these events, as they showcase their beauty and talent. While others are concerned that it may provide an unfair advantage or deviate from traditional beauty standards.

Transgender Participation in Beauty Pageants:

Similar to sports, beauty pageants often have specific rules regarding eligibility, which may or may not include transgender contestants.

The purpose and criteria of each pageant should be considered when discussing inclusivity. Some pageants emphasize talent and social impact, while others prioritize traditional beauty standards.

Openness and inclusivity can be fostered by acknowledging the diverse range of beauty and representation while respecting the individual rules and values of each pageant.

Overall, it's important to:

Respect individual identities and experiences.

Celebrity Visual Potential: A Harvard Study

A new study uses machine learning to analyze facial features and predict a "celebrity visual potential (CVP)" score, suggesting some features are associated with perceived charisma.

Key Findings:

Positive correlations with CVP: High cheekbones, large eyes, facial symmetry, sexual dimorphism (more masculine/feminine features), darker skin color (for white people).
Mixed correlations: Facial width-to-height ratio (positively with aggression, negatively with trustworthiness/generosity).
Negative correlations: Baby-facedness, thin jaw.
Beauty: Plays a small role in CVP, not the dominant factor.
Implications:

Business: Managers could use CVP to evaluate the image potential of employees/executives, but awareness of bias is crucial.

Individuals: Can use findings to understand perceived image, but shouldn't prioritize CVP over skills/personality.

Bias: Can be exacerbated or potentially reduced through understanding CVP score limitations.

Further research: Needed on race and CVP perception.

Overall: While facial features may influence perceived charisma, they are not the sole determinant. Focusing on skills, and personality, and addressing personal biases are more important factors for success.

Additional Notes:

The study focuses on visual aspects of charisma, not personality traits. CVP score is a measure of "star power" potential, not actual charisma. Ethical considerations of using CVP in decision-making should be addressed.

My Backpack Survival Endgame Gear

My Backpack Survival Endgame Gear

From a person living alone

A major catastrophe/emergency scenario encompasses a wide range of possibilities, so it's impossible to give a one-size-fits-all answer to packing for survival. However, I can offer some general tips and categories of items to consider, keeping in mind safety and ethical considerations:

1. Basic Needs:

Water: A portable water filter or purification tablets are essential, as clean water sources may be scarce. Consider a collapsible container to hold and transport water.

Food: Pack high-calorie, non-perishable food bars, dried fruits and nuts, and instant oatmeal or soup mix. Prioritize items with a long shelf life and minimal preparation requirements. In case you got some extra space then pack some canned goods and instant noodles as well.

Shelter: A compact emergency blanket or a lightweight tarp can provide protection from the elements. Consider a small, one-person tent if feasible.

Noteworthy: If you have a budget it is very much recommended to buy a solar all-in-one generator where you can charge any electric gadget you may have. Try to buy a generator with a built-in radio, flashlight, and tons of mini outlets that are small and portable.

2. Safety and Security:

First-aid kit: Pack a comprehensive kit with bandages, wound ointment (Betadine), antiseptic wipes, pain relievers, and common medications for colds, coughs,s and fever. Consider taking a basic first-aid course to learn how to use the supplies effectively.

Multi-tool: A versatile tool like a Leatherman or Swiss Army knife can be used for opening cans, fixing gear, and various other tasks.

Firestarter: Lighters, matches, or a ferrocerium rod can be used to start fires for warmth, cooking, and signaling. Add a stick of candle if you can.

3. Navigation and Communication:

Compass and map: A physical map and compass are reliable even if electronic devices fail. Learn basic navigation skills before your journey.

Headlamp or flashlight: A hands-free light source is crucial for nighttime navigation and tasks. Choose rechargeable LED + solar options for long battery life.

Transportation: In this kind of catastrophe and emergency, there will be a scarcity of electricity and gasoline. You will walk and run most of the time. If you are given a chance to grab more then it is recommended to own at least a portable and collapsable bicycle and a mini plastic fishing boat + life vest.

Attention grabber: A keychain whistle. This can signal help.

4. Additional Considerations:

Clothing: Pack versatile layers for different weather conditions, sturdy shoes or boots, and a hat for sun protection. Add a small towel and washable face mask if you can.

Hygiene kit: Toilet paper, hand sanitizer, alcohol, soap, toothbrush+ toothpaste, and personal hygiene products that can help maintain sanitation and prevent illness.

Documents: Copies of important documents like ID, passport, and medical records should be kept in a waterproof pouch. A small notebook and pen are also recommended.

Morale boosters: A small book, cards, or personal memento can provide comfort and distraction during a difficult time. (recommended if you only have extra space)

Self-defense: You can use your umbrella, knives (swiss/kitchen), pen, baseball bat, or any walking stick in case there is an attacker. In the end, a gun is always the deadliest if things get worse but a lot of countries ban this so this is the last thing I had in mind if you are licensed to own a gun then please be very cautious in using it.

Last and most important, pray and have a strong faith. Remember, the most important factor for survival is your own resourcefulness and adaptability. Stay calm, think critically, and use your skills to make the most of your limited resources.

I hope this information helps you prepare for whatever challenges the future may hold. Remember, even in the most dire circumstances, there is always hope for survival and rebuilding.
